Since
its foundation, TransTOOLs has been actively involved in several European
Programs related to advanced R&D in Information Technologies, like
RACE, ESPRIT and INFO2000. TransTOOLs has been a partner in a number of
different projects. Among others, the following should be highlighted:
EuroWorkstation
Objective: Development of a European Workstation.
TransTOOLs was in charge of developing the Database Technology. This
technology was ultimately applied to the core design of MultiBase.
Supernode and GPMIMD
Objective: Development of a new generation of Computer based Parallel
Processing on Transputers.
TransTOOLs provided the development of a relational database with parallel
processing with a SQL interface. The experience acquired in this project
set the foundation for the development of the client-server version
of MultiBase.
Charisma
Objective: Development of a Multimedia, UNIX-based workflow system.
TransTOOLs provided its expertise for the integration of the DBMS with
the iABG German company workflow system ("ProMiNand"). The
work in this project led to the development of MultiWay technology.
Lynx
Objective: Production of an Object Oriented Multimedia Workstation.
TransTOOLs' role was to build a core based system with an Object Oriented
Database on OMG standards. As a result of this project, TransTOOLs
designed Cosmos.
Bios
Objective: Solving connectivity problems between OS/2, UNIX and mainframes.
TransTOOLs provided the MultiWay technology that allowed connectivity
to the IBM DB2/6000 and produced within this project the OS/2 version
of MultiBase.
Helios
Objective: Development of a tool for performance prediction in complex
distributed applications for connecting it with different databases.
Jedi
Objective: Development of "multimedia support titles," which
combined into one platform the book, the CD and the upgrade of contents
via Internet.
