Download and installation instructions for demo applications

There are two sample applications ready to be installed and executed in the Expand development environment that will allow you to better understand the handling of the tool.

Before downloading these examples, it is imperative to install and configure the evaluation copy. It is also highly recommended to previously configure your application’s server and the drivers (DB2 y/o CTSQL) for the connection to the databases.

How to install a sample application:

1. Select the sample project you wish to download. You can choose between a basic appplication (basic_demo.zip), where you will find a complete Web project developed with Expand, or a complete application that emulates the behaviour of a Web electronic commmerce (eCommerce.zip).
2. Download the demos and save them in the destination directory you’ve choosen.
3. For the installation and execution for sample projects, execute Expand and select the sequence of options: “Import -> General -> Existing projects into workspace” of the option “File” from the main menu.
4. Then, select the option “Select archive file” and browse to select the “.zip” file which contains the sample project you wish to load (“basic_demo.zip” or “eCommerce.zip”). After you have selected the file, click on “Finish” to complete the process.

After importing the Demo’s, you will need to download the sample databases for their execution. You can find them in chapter “Sample Databases” on the same web page where you found your Expand evaluation copy.

Once the databases have been installed, small adjustments to the connection parameters may be required.
